<東京郊外多摩丘陵に広がる深夜の住宅街をクロール>
暗所での高感度撮影が容易になったデジタル一眼レフカメラ普及の黎明期に、毎日のように深夜の住宅地徘徊し続けて撮影し、個人Webサイト上にアップロードを続けていた作者の代表作。Google MapにGPSログを表示しながら多摩ニュータウン近辺を網羅するように撮影を続けた。2006年にガーディアンガーデンで個展、2007年に作者初の写真集となる本作を出版。米国 Apertture誌 2007 Portfolio Aword Runner's Up 受賞、2008年写真の会賞受賞。マーチン・パーによる00年代の世界の写真集ベスト30にも選出されている。

<Crawl through the Tokyo Suburbs at Midnight>
This seminal body of work was produced in the early years of digital SLR photography, when advances in high-sensitivity imaging first enabled handheld night photography with ease. The artist undertook repeated nocturnal walks through suburban residential districts, systematically recording the Tama Hills and Tama New Town area. The images were originally disseminated through a personal website, accompanied by GPS logs displayed via Google Maps.

The series was first exhibited at Guardian Garden, Tokyo, in 2006, and published as the artist’s debut photobook in 2007. It was recognized internationally as "Runner-Up for the Aperture Magazine 2007 Portfolio Award", received "the Society of Photography Award in 2008", and was selected by Martin Parr as one of "Martin Parr’s Best Books of the Decade" (PhotoIreland Festival 2011).
